Our van is purpose-built and fully equipped to provide a safe, secure, and controlled environment for every dog we work with.
On board, you’ll find a variety of harnesses to suit all sizes and abilities, as well as toys and treats to help motivate, encourage, and make each session fun and rewarding.

Our van is equipped with state-of-the-art slat-mill treadmills, which are completely non-motorised and powered solely by the dog using them. This means each dog works at their own natural pace, with no motor dictating the speed.

Because there is no speed limit, many dogs can safely enjoy full-speed running if they choose. The slat-mill will only move as fast as the dog is comfortable going, giving them full control throughout the session.
For added safety and peace of mind, we also have a manual brake system that allows us to slow or stop the mill whenever needed, ensuring each dog remains safe and supported at all times.

We provide a safe and controlled outlet for dogs to run at their own pace, without the worry of outside distractions or environmental challenges. Whether a dog experiences anxiety, reactivity, or simply has energy to burn, our slat-mill treadmills offer the perfect environment for focused, stress-free exercise.

Hi! I'm Ellie — the Owner & CEO of Boundin' Hounds — and this is my right-hand man, Bacon.
Dogs have always held a special place in my heart. After owning both anxious and high-energy dogs, I became deeply passionate about understanding their needs and helping others navigate similar challenges. That passion sparked the idea for Boundin’ Hounds, and over the past several years I’ve dedicated myself to building a service that truly supports dogs and their humans.
I hold a Diploma in Canine First Aid and am currently studying Canine Physiology & Anatomy. I’m always seeking new qualifications to expand my knowledge and grow the services we offer.
Please send us a message if you cannot find an answer to your question. We are more than happy to help.
Yes — safety is our top priority. Our slat-mills are non-motorised, meaning your dog controls their own pace. The treadmill only moves as fast as your dog chooses to go. We also use a manual brake system, secure harnesses, and constant supervision to ensure every session is safe and comfortable.
Most dogs can benefit from slat-mill exercise! It’s great for:
If you’re unsure, we’re happy to chat about whether the slat-mill is right for your dog.
Of course! We always encourage owners to be present, especially for the first session. Many dogs feel more relaxed with their person nearby. After your dog becomes confident, you’re welcome to stay, step outside briefly, or do whatever feels best for you.
Just your dog and their usual collar or harness! We provide treats, toys, and a variety of harness options. If your dog has dietary restrictions or a favourite reward, feel free to bring your own treats.
Our mobile service aims to provide private 1 to 1 sessions, but in the instance of more than one dog in a household, we do currently have the ability to run 2 dogs at one time.
Sessions typically last between 20–30 minutes, depending on your dog’s fitness level, confidence, and needs. Some dogs may prefer shorter, steadier sessions, while others enjoy building up to longer runs. We always tailor the session to your dog.
Every dog is different, but most dogs take to the slat-mill much faster than you might expect! Because it’s completely dog-powered and moves only at their pace, many feel comfortable within just a few minutes. We always introduce the treadmill slowly, using encouragement, treats, and positive reinforcement to help your dog understand what to do.
Some dogs may walk confidently right away, while others prefer to take their time — and that’s absolutely fine. Our sessions are designed to go at your dog’s pace, ensuring they feel safe, calm, and supported throughout the learning process.
That’s completely okay — many dogs just need a few minutes to understand what’s happening. We introduce everything gradually, use positive reinforcement, and never rush the process. Most nervous dogs gain confidence quickly once they realise they’re in control.
The slat-mill is a fantastic supplement to your dog’s routine and can be especially helpful for high-energy or reactive dogs. However, it’s not intended to fully replace regular walks, which provide mental stimulation and enrichment. Think of it as an additional, controlled outlet for exercise.
This depends on your dog’s goals — whether it’s fitness, weight loss, behaviour support, or conditioning. Many dogs benefit from weekly sessions, while working dogs or athletes may enjoy more frequent visits.
Yes! Because the gym is inside our van, sessions can continue rain or shine. Hot days, cold days, windy days — your dog gets consistent, safe exercise no matter the weather.
Many older dogs benefit from gentle, controlled exercise. We adjust the pace to suit their comfort and mobility. If your dog has any health conditions, just let us know so we can tailor the session appropriately.
We recommend waiting until your puppy is old enough to exercise safely without risking joint development. If you’re unsure, we can discuss your puppy’s age and activity level to determine what’s appropriate.
